The King of Wands

King of Wands

The King of Wands is shown in profile seated on a throne without armrests.  The backrest of the throne is decorated with images of lions (Fire, Leo) and a salamander whose tail and mouth are joined in a perfect circle (fire, renewal, vision).  His wand is planted on the ground in front of the throne, and he holds it easily in his right hand while his left hand rests comfortably by his side.  He is leaning slightly forward, open, receptive, and available. This king shares his throne with the physical salamander located near his feet.

Mastery in the control and use of one’s skills and talents are embodied in this card.  If the king of wands appears in your reading, it means you have achieved the highest level of performance and are an acknowledged leader in the field of inquiry related to the issue at hand.  You are the best at what you do, and everyone knows it. You are spirited and generous, willing to share the top spot with others, free from ego-involvement.

As with the other kings, you may be the target of others’ jealousies and resentments.  Anyone who challenges your reputation will lose and may get burned in the attempt; you do have a temper.  You are at the top of your game, and your skills and talents are very much alive and still growing.  The possibilities are endless.
