3-Card Reading for N.P.

Five of CupsWheel of FortuneNine of Cups                                                               Ace of Wands

N.P. has submitted the cards above for interpretation.  The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit.  Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier.  Since two out of the first three cards are cups, it is safe to say that this reading focuses on feelings, emotions, relationships, and psychic abilities.  The spotlight has been on the five of cups that shows a solitary figure mourning a loss.  N.P. has been trying to deal with the feeling that someone/something is missing in her/his life.  This can be anything from a cell phone not working to the death of a loved one.  The message of the card is on several levels;  Resource is always at hand.  Focus on what is still available instead of on what has been lost.  Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself time to recover.

The spotlight is now on the Wheel of Fortune, which addresses patterns in one’s life, lessons that were chosen before this incarnation, and the way one manages the opportunities to master those lessons/challenges in order to mark them complete and get them off the ever-moving wheel of time, so one does not have to keep on encountering them.  There is wisdom and insight to be gained here by observing the choices that were made as a result of the first card, the five of cups.

The spotlight is moving toward the nine of cups, a card urging action.  N.P. is being asked to share more of her/his feelings, relationships, and psychic abilities by putting them into play at this time rather than allowing them to remain on the shelf.  This card is a beautiful follow-up to the first two cards because it illustrates what it takes to learn the lesson of dealing with a loss in life.  N.P. is seen as a loving and generous person who has amassed a veritable treasure of all the things the cups symbolize.  (S)he is encouraged to activate those things rather than let the volume of the cups overwhelm her/him.

The summary card is the Ace of Wands, a triumph of taking back the power to lead one’s life rather than letting the circumstances of life lead the individual.  N.P., by her/his actions, has triumphed over the situation and is back in charge.

Does this make sense?  I hope it was helpful.  For more information about using tarot cards for insight see http://tarotforalltime.com
