3-Card Reading for P.H.

Five of Swords   Three of Pentacles   Five of Pentacles                                                     Page of Wands

P.H. has submitted the above cards for interpretation.  The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit.  Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or a clarifier.  Since two out of the first three cards bear the number five, it is safe to say that this reading focuses on freedom and choosing.  All fives relate back to the Hierophant, so this is also about intuition and discretion.

The spotlight has been on the five of swords.  The message of this card is that the way to win is not to play.  It seems as if there is a conflict situation just begging for P.H.’s attention, and (s)he is being encouraged not to even pick up the sword but to walk away from it.  The only way to surmount the conflict here is to rise above it by not participating in it.

The spotlight is now on the three of pentacles, a card that encourages working with others.  P.H. is being advised that this is not the time to abandon the company of others and go off to do her/his own “thing,” but to function as a contributing member of a group that is building something of value.  There is an assurance here that P.H.’s contribution is integral to the project’s completion and will be appreciated and admired by the other participants as well.

The spotlight is moving toward the five of pentacles, which gives some more advice for P.H. to turn away from any feelings of low self-esteem and self-pity.  “Don’t go without; go within,” is the message of this card.  End the suffering.

The summary card is the Page of Wands, which says that P.H. is at the beginning of a journey and has dedicated her/his skills and talents toward reaching a particular goal and ideal.  There is encouragement here too that success is possible, that P.H. is capable and dedicated and that the skills are good enough to help her/him reach the desired end.  It certainly seems that the reading as a whole is intended to counter-act a “down” period where P.H. is feeling doubt and/or worry.  The good news is that (s)he is on her/his way toward success.

Does this make sense?  I hope it was helpful.  For more information on using tarot cards for insight and information, please see http://www.tarotforalltime.com   Thank you.
