3-Card Reading for A.K.

A.K. has submitted the above cards for interpretation.  The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit.  Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or a clarifier.  Since two out of the first three are nines, this reading focuses on wisdom and higher understanding.  Also, two out of the first three are pentacles, so the area of A.K.’s life that the reading addresses are her/his values and priorities, which includes job, money, and status.

The spotlight has been on the nine of pentacles, the limits and restraints imposed on one in a position of authority.  Although there has recently been a strong temptation for you to free the falcon, let it fly, and let the result manifest to its full extent, you have exercised discrimination and control over your actions and responses because of the position you hold.  It behooves you to demonstrate appropriate moderated behavior.  As Michelle Obama once said, “When they go low, we go high.”  This enables you to operate from a higher perspective, rather than sinking to the lowest common denominator.

The spotlight is now on the nine of wands, another plea not to put all your eggs in one basket.  A.K., you are clearly a multi-skilled individual, but you are leaning heavily on one particular set of skills and talents while standing guard over the rest and have suffered from doing so.  You are being urged to bring one or more of the others into play to bolster your main choice and give yourself more tools and more options.  There is wisdom in minimizing your risk at this time.

The spotlight is moving toward the two of pentacles, the mistaken perception that there is a choice to be made between two seemingly mutually exclusive options.  The lesson here is to stop dancing between two desired outcomes and embrace a reality where both choices can co-exist.  This is accomplished by changing “but” to “and.”  Try saying, “I like my job, AND I’d like to earn more money,” instead of contemplating getting rid of or letting go of one in order to have the other.

The summary card is the Star, the self-confidence, self-respect, and self-love that allows you the acknowledgment that what you do, you do well and allows you to be part of the flow that expands the universe.  A.K., you are in a position to see the larger picture and/or pattern and have the alignment to connect with more than one level of consciousness.  You are a guide and an inspiration for others.
