N.S. has submitted the above cards for interpretation. The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit. Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or a clarifier. Since there are no two-or-more-of-a-kind suit or number, it is safe to say that this reading focuses on N.S.’s everyday life even though the presence of the High Priestess hints at a connection to her/his soul’s agenda.
The spotlight has been on the eight of pentacles, the sole practitioner. When this card appears, it signals a time for the seeker to do her/his own thing rather than participate in a group effort. N.S., if you have been debating going into business for yourself or even veering away from a prescribed path of participation, this card encourages you to stretch the limits/definitions of what has gone before and offer a unique product/service that fills a need/desire in a new and different way. The quality of your work is high and speaks for itself; however, if there is a part of it with which you are not 100% pleased (the pentacle under the bench), you are simply instructed not to feature it or put it on display. There will be time and opportunity to further refine it later.
The spotlight in now on the High Priestess, the Gift of Knowledge. As a member of the Major Arcana, this card addresses both the items on your soul’s agenda for this lifetime as well as the gifts you have earned/accessed from Spirit to help you along your path. You have all the knowledge you need and want, N.S.; all you have to do is get yourself to a quiet, calm, steady place where you can remind yourself of what you already know and use it.
The spotlight is moving toward the page of wands, dedicating your skills and talents to the goal of mastery in your chosen field. You are on your way, N.S., and have taken the beginning steps on the journey. Keep going.
The summary card is the seven of swords, de-escalating the conflict. From the first three cards, it looks as if you are setting out on a journey that funnels your knowledge into new and exciting places. Those who forge new boundaries or create new products/services are always met with a certain amount of resistance. This summary card urges you to actively lower the threat level of any opposition by removing potential weapons from “the enemy.” It also feels as if you may be your own worst “enemy” here, and some work is needed to clarify what issues must be handled immediately, which ones can wait until later, and which (if any) can be ignored because they cannot hurt you.
