3-Card Reading for K.S.

K. S. has requested an interpretation of the above cards that were drawn according to the protocol of silently completing the sentence, “Please give me insight into __________.” K.S. has not told me what (s)he has put into the blank space.  The first three cards are the “heart” of the reading and are read as a unit.  Then, the fourth card is drawn and read as a summary or clarifier.  Since there are two cups in the first group of three, it is safe to say that this mini-reading focuses on K.S.’s feelings, emotions, relationships, and psychic abilities.  There is also a member of the Major Arcana, which means there is a connection to K.S.’s soul’s agenda for this lifetime.

The spotlight has been on the five of cups, mourning a loss, or feeling something and/or someone is missing from your life.  This can be anything that you used to count on as a resource and no longer feel you have access to, even the lack of some asset that was part of how you defined yourself.  The message of the card is to be gentle rather than beat up on yourself for what you do not have, and realize that resource is always at hand; those cups can be refilled.  When you are ready,  it is important to direct your energies toward the two cups that are still standing.

The spotlight is now on the fact that you have recently begun a new relationship either with a group or another individual or with some aspect of yourself that has recently been uncovered and/or activated.  The emotions behind you are moving gently, your feet are on solid ground, and you are able to stay calm even when a fish appears in the cup.  This is a perfect follow-up to the first card in the reading.

The spotlight is moving toward the Hermit, a card of wisdom and higher understanding.  You have ascended the mountain carrying a light so that others can find the way if that is what they choose to do.  It has taken you a while to get here, and the only drawback may be a sense of isolation because you do, indeed, march to a different drummer.

The summary card is the four of pentacles, shifting your motivation, values, and priorities to an internal rather than external standard.  You have spent a lot of time and energy figuring out where you stand, how you feel, and what you think to be valuable, but the answers you appear to be holding all rely on values outside yourself.  Until you understand that YOU are valuable, those other choices will close off your energy and leave you in a very vulnerable position.  This summary card, K.S., asks you to realize that you can always count on yourself, the most valuable resource of all.

Does this make sense?  I hope it was helpful.  For more information about using tarot cards for insight and guidance, please see                                                  http://www.tarotforalltime.com                                                     and consider purchasing the book Tarot for All Time, available in paperback, e-book, and downloadable PDF format.  Thank you.
